Text 14 Jun 2 notes Low Carb High Protein Recipes

Here is another great article on Low Carb Recipes that I just found.  It’s a couple years old, but still good:

Low Carb High Protein Recipes

Low carbohydrates high protein recipes have always been popular with athletes. This popularity has exploded in the last 10 years due to the introduction of low carb diets to the public. There are many low carb diet recipes such as, low carb breakfast recipes, low carb lunch recipes, regular low carbohydrates recipes, free information on recipes, and high protein recipes that are more and more popular to the public more so than athletes today.

The high protein low carbohydrates diet will consist of foods that are high in protein but low in carbohydrates such as, lean hamburger meat, lean steaks, most cuts of lean red meats, all types of chicken, fish, pork chops, pork loins or tenderloin, ham (check bacon), eggs, milk, yogurt, hard - soft - medium cheeses, tofu, soy milk, beans, split peas, peanut butter, almonds, cashews, sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds, flax seeds and a whole lot more.

The small list above will give you an idea of high protein foods that can be associated with low carbohydrates high protein recipes, and can also be formed into low carb breakfast recipes as well. If your body is consuming the correct balance of low carbs and proteins, this will not only allow your body to shed pounds but in-effect transform areas that use to be problem fatty areas into muscle. Yes, the high protein diets will use that protein to develop muscle in the areas were muscle is needed.

Many professional body builders use these types of diets to shed fatty tissue and build muscle tone. With weight training and proper exercise this can be achieved. Do the research; find the information that closely resembles the types of foods you’ve eaten before, this will help you to get started. Then you can add different food groups that may be new to you, and you can enjoy a decent low carb high protein diet with newer foods.

There is another reminder I would like to add about finding low carb high protein recipes and that is, you don’t want to make this out to be a job. You want to look forward to your next meal. It is very important to realize this. If you make it into a job, you will lose interest very quickly and for the most part stop dieting. This happens to millions of people around the world. They are dieting with foods they do not like to eat, they fashion the diet into something horrible. Then blame it on the diet or recipes for the failure.

Take your time in getting the right recipes, pick and choose, there are many low carb high protein recipes available. Text 17 Apr 1 note Why Low Carb Desserts Are A Must
Don’t you hate how, after eating a sumptuous and yummy dessert, you suddenly feel inexplicably tired? It makes me feel like I’m groggy and slow - like my mind has stopped functioning. This becomes particularly difficult when you are in situations where alertness and presence of mind is required. This is one of my reasons for opting to consume low carb desserts instead.

Low carb desserts are similar in taste to other desserts. They are equally sweet and delicious. However, the main difference is that they are made from low carb recipes. That pretty much negates the presence of sugar and flour. Stevia or other naturally non-caloric sweeteners are used by low carb recipes instead of your usual sugar. Thus, low carb desserts still taste sweet as sugar but without adding any carbs or calories.Flour substitutes such as coconut milk, flax meal, or almond meal, are used.Instead of carbohydrates, your dessert will be high in fiber. This fiber will in turn help your digestion and help slow down any glucose from entering your blood. The possibilities of undergoing any sugar crash after a meal or a snack will be avoided. So, you will stay alert and awake for longer.

But increased wakefulness is not the only good thing you can get out of this.Low carb desserts will also be a great help in your weight loss efforts. Replacing the sugar in desserts with a zero caloric sweetener means that you won’t be consuming all those extra calories normal desserts have. There is nothing wrong with zero-calorie sweeteners except our perceptions of them. They say sweeteners are not natural; but so are sugars, considering all the processing that went into making it.Besides, not all zero-calories sweeteners have been manufactured artificially. A plant has been extracted and this is what is now widely used in many countries and known as Stevia.Japanese people have been using Stevia for decades to fight sugar addiction and excessive consumption.

I’m sure you are very skeptical about all this. After all, how could anything without flour or sugar taste good?We could spend hours and hours discussing just how much I love low carb desserts, but you won’t have a clear picture of it unless you actually try these desserts yourself. It is quite easy to get your hands on low carb desserts nowadays. You can either make the desserts yourself, or scour the internet for stores that sell them.

You can’t fail to find low carb dessert recipes since there’s so many of them around.Recently I was able to try a simple recipe for this amazing low carb fudge!I just chanced upon the recipe on one of my online forays. Many of these recipes do not require a lot of ingredients and they’re very simple too. Other recipes are more complex and may require you to buy ingredients that you are not familiar with. When cooking with these recipes and using ingredients that are unfamiliar to you, make sure you follow the instructions carefully.Do not be too drastic in choosing the recipes since some may not be as low carb as you thought. There are cases where supposedly low carb recipes actually have very high concentration of carbohydrates.
Now all that is left is for you to go out there and look for low carb desserts that you will both enjoy and obtain health benefits from.
Text 15 Apr Healthy Low Carb Recipes

Low carb eating is not just salads and chunks of meat; it’s delicious healthy foods that make you feel better and look better!  Learning some low carb recipes will help you stick to a low carb diet as very few restaurants offer low carb meals.  Once you start on your low carb journey, you’ll never look back!

What types of low carb recipes are out there?  So many that it’s impossible to count.  There are of course the obvious ones, like omelets and grilled chicken, but there are also amazing creative and delicious recipes, such as apple cinnamon muffins!  Apple cinnamon muffins?  Are you amazed?  Yes, you can learn to make desserts like muffins, cookies, and cakes that are very low in carb!  There are many low carb baking ingredients that are available these days.  These ingredients replace the nutritionless normal flour that most people use to bake.  Then instead of sugar, a variety of calorie and carb free sugars can be used ranging from stevia (which is derived from a plant) to sucralose (which has pretty much the same chemical structure as normal sugar but without the calories and teeth decay).

How do you start cooking when you’ve never cooked before or have very little experience?  It’s ok, don’t scared if what you cooked at first looked like a mass of grey goopy mess and tasted even worse.  There are difficult recipes and then there are easy recipes, and it’s difficult to determine what’s what at first.  Then there are recipes that just won’t work for anyone because they bad recipes that even a professional cook couldn’t make good!  So how do you spot a good easy recipe to start off with?  First, you have to read through the entire recipe and see if you understand all the steps and all the cooking utensils that are required.  Do you have that slow cooker they require?  If you don’t, then you should put that recipe down and pick another one, or else go out and buy a slow cooker.  You should be able to visualize all the steps involved in cooking that dish as you read it.   If you’re not able to visualize it, then it’s not a good recipe to start with.

Make sure you have all the ingredients for the recipe before you start.  You should read the recipe carefully to make sure that you have the exact ingredient that’s listed and that you have the amount required.  Once you start cooking, I’m sure you don’t want to run to the store while part of your dish is cooking.  A lot of recipes call for spices of all kinds so it’s good to start making a collection of them.  I would start by just getting the spices you need for the recipe you’re making.  You’ll notice that after a year or so, you’ll have built up quite a good stash.

With so many options out there, what are you waiting for?  Going low carb has never been easier.  Countless websites list free recipes that you can follow.  There are free ebooks out there for you to peruse too.  If you’re new to cooking, then try following the low carb recipes exactly at first (especially the ones that involve baking) as changing the amount of an ingredient or switching an ingredient could make the recipe fail.  But once you get into the swing of cooking, you’ll find that you can be creative and improve the existing recipes to make them taste even better!

I often hear of new recipes from friends or online recipes websites.  Some of these recipes aren’t even low carb ones, but I immediately try to think how to modify the recipe so that it becomes low carb.  Often, a simple substitution can reduce most of the carbs in a recipe.  For example, you would think that lasagna had to be made with noodles that contained lots of carbs, but you’re wrong.  An easy substitute for those sheets of noodles so common in lasagna is to use eggplant (often also called aubergine).  You slice the eggplant into long thin sheets and then boil them very briefly, then use them like you would use the lasagna pasta sheets.  It’s delicious and lowers both the calories (if you care about them) and the carb content.  It’s simple ideas that this that makes low carb eating effortlessly healthy.

Text 15 Apr More Low Carb Snacks!
Going on a diet may be difficult, but going on a low carb diet is even doubly so.This is mostly because we’re so used to snacking on carb-loaded foods in between meals. There are chips, chocolate bars, pretzels, and candies that we typically fill up on even when we’re really hungry. How often do you go to the vending machine to check out the snacks being sold? There are just so few low carb snacks in those machines. Since there are no low carb snacks, I find myself caving in and just buying any snack despite the fact that it is high in carbs.

The low supply of low carb snacks is happening everywhere. Americans are actually having an easier time finding low carb snacks than the rest of the world. Surprised to learn that? There are more low carb snacks being sold in American than in other parts of the world.Coconut milk is sold in most supermarkets along with almond milk, and you can find an assortment of foods manufactured by various diets, such as the Atkins Diet or the South Beach Diet. This enables low carb dieters to stick to their diets.Given the choice between these packaged foods and whole foods, of course the better option would still be the latter.

So are there any low carb snacks? Of course, there are the more obvious choices. Nuts can be bought from small stores to delis to big supermarkets. But many people have developed allergic reactions to specific types of nuts, and that is why they shun away from then. Then there’s beef jerky. Beef jerky are wonderful low carb snacks and you can eat as much of them as you want. You can choose from a wide selection of tasty and flavorful types. One important thing to be cautious about is the added sugar content of the beef jerky; there should be none. Many BBQ flavors may contain large amounts of added sugars. Before buying the jerky, check the nutritional facts at the back of the beef jerky. You can also try other types of jerky, such as turkey jerky. Also you can make these at home if you’re willing to give it a try. You can either use your oven at a very low temperature or a dehydrator.

Recently, there has been an influx of more specialty low carb snacks. You can simply pick up flax crackers and kale chips at stores. These provide more variety to low carb dieters. No longer are you trapped into eating conventional foods that you have to modify to be low carb. Even manufacturers are starting to cater to the specific needs of low carb dieters. Isn’t it convenient to just go ahead and pick any food item from a shelf without having to analyze its health implications’ But you should be careful so as not to fall for deceptive and misleading labels; take a closer look at the nutritional information provided.

There have been a great shift in the trend for low carb snacks lately. There is always the hope that the availability of low carb snacks will increase as the low carb diets gains in popularity. Many low carb snacks are already easily accessible for purchase on the internet. When low carb diets become more popular, common grocery stores will start to carry them as well. This will make sticking to a low carb diet easier than ever.
Text 15 Apr Dreaming Of A Low Carb Cereal
How many times have you woken up hungry and groggy? For me, it is pretty much an everyday occurrence.I’m not really much of a morning personI trip over my feet as I go about finding my clothes and brushing my teeth still feeling hazy and half-asleep.Although my stomach is also grumbling, what to eat for breakfast is the last thing on my mind. All I care about is grabbing something to ease that hollowness.I simply grab whatever it is I lay my eyes on.Those were the days, back when I wasn’t on a low carb diet.

It is common practice for me to simply pour cereal and milk into a bowl.Quicker than you can say ‘breakfast’, I would wolf it all down until not even a drop of milk is left at the bottom of the bowl. But cereals suddenly became a huge no-no once I started my low carb diet. This means that find breakfast food is becoming a problem. There are eggs, bacon, and sausages, but they take too long to cook.I need low carb cereal.

I do not easily get fed up with having the same type of food to eat during breakfast, unlike the case of lunch or dinner where I keep looking for something different or something new.I can eat the same food for breakfast every morning without ever getting bored.Perhaps I can blame it on the fact that I am still fresh from sleep and my brain can’t be bothered to complain about anything. Some people like to look up low carb recipes to be able to cook something delicious for breakfast. For some, low carb pizza and other foods they ate during dinner would do.But for me, I need something fast, but also repetitive.Thinking about what I should eat isn’t exactly how I pictured my morning to be.Looking up recipes at eight o’clock in the morning does not appeal to me.I don’t also want to spend too much time figuring out what to have for breakfast if there are no leftovers from dinner that I can work with.Anyway, I am not really a huge fan of having meals made from leftovers.

I know many people suggest things like boiling eggs the night before or low carb muffins, but they just don’t feel like breakfast because it’s nothing like what I used to eat for breakfast, which was cereal. The recipes involving the low carb cereals that are available in the market can be quite complicated.Even if you use a ready-made packet, it’s still a big hassle as you have to boil water and then mix it in with the powder. You cannot immediately enjoy your bowl of cereal until it has at least cooled down a bit. This might be all right during the weekends when I don’t have to rush off to work, but during the weekdays, it’s not such a good idea.

I can’t wait until someone makes low carb cereal for me to eat daily. It doesn’t have to taste amazingly great, because I know that without sugar and wheat and oats, it obviously won’t taste quite the same. But if someone can make something close to it, then I’d be happy. It needs to be something with a bit of a crunch to it, and it can’t just go soggy as soon as it touches the milk.Maybe I am asking for too much with those demands.Perhaps that type of food is an impossibility so I should simply look elsewhere for other breakfast options. However, I still can’t help but wish that the day will come when all the supermarket stalls will be stocked with low carb cereal.

Text 15 Apr Amazing Low Carb Recipes
Still don’t know a lot of low carb recipes? Then prepare for an adventure! There are so many great ones out there; the only problem is which one to try first! Despite having a passion for food and eating, we still have to worry about our health and fitness. Switching to a low carb diet is the simplest solution to all those problems. You can rest easy with the fact that you are eating something that will not kill you and, in fact, will even keep you lose weight or maintain it. You don’t even have to sign up for intense workouts and exercise but you can still stay healthy!

Even if you’re not on a low carb diet, there’re plenty of reasons to try cooking some low carb recipes. For a start, you might want a quick and easy low carb snack. Their easy packing and handling makes them perfect takeaway food for camping or traveling. For example, you can dehydrate some vegetables and take them as a snack. I particularly enjoy salting some slices of squash and dehydrating them afterwards. These become chips that are both healthy and delicious, the perfect snacks on the go.
If you’re not a fan of dehydrated food, then there’re plenty of other foods. Low carb pot roast is actually your usual pot roast, sans the carbohydrate-filled ingredients and starchy vegetables. Many low carb pot roast recipes use the slow cooker, although you can use the oven too. You will end up with a tender and delicious dish. You have the option of eating it by itself or adding some vegetables. They are especially easy to make if you use the slow cooker. You just put them into the pot with some soy sauce or salt and seasoning and leave to cook for 8 hours. I often cook it overnight and then switch it off in the mornings. Mouth-watering beef will greet you in the morning when you wake up. The meat is so tender you have to be careful when you cut it so that it doesn’t fall apart!

You will have a lot of options with vegetables if you don’t like meat much. You’ll be selling yourself short if you will settle for unseasoned and boiled vegetables. After all, making them more flavorful and tasty does not require a lot of work! Vegetable stew is quite possibly one of the easiest dishes you can make. You can make your favorite vegetables even more tempting by adding a few tomatoes.I have a soft spot for Italian squash, onions, leeks, and garlic.Add some herbs e.g., rosemary, basil, oregano, and thyme. Leave it to cook for about an hour. You will have a kitchen filled with mouthwatering and delectable aroma.Your neighbors will think you’re a great cook, and all you did was throw some vegetables into a pot!

When we speak of dishes that are a breeze to prepare, soups are definitely on top of the list. People who haven’t tried them before may be easily intimidated by the process. However, if you boil some vegetables in chicken or vegetable broth and proceed to puree it with an immersion blender, you have an amazing soup! That wasn’t so difficult, was it?

Low carb recipes are just as delicious as normal recipes. In fact, they are guilt-free recipes. Weight gain or sleepiness won’t be a problem as you indulge in these recipes. That’s why I always stick with low carb recipes.

Text 15 Apr 1 note What Are The Best Low Carb Snacks To Eat?
Although we want to be healthy, we are still prone to human frailty. When we are hungry and tired, it takes a gigantic amount of motivation and energy to prevent ourselves from eating that cake or that cookies. I always wish in those circumstances that instead of delicious look cakes and brownies or chips with dip, they had laid out some low carb snacks. Egged on by all that temptation and a hunger that won’t quit, I would end up straying from my diet.It is easy to say that you can easily avoid being caught in those circumstances by keeping food on hand with you throughout the day; it is a harder thing altogether to actually keep at it.

Carrying snacks around is not so ideal when all you need are some quick fixes for your hunger pangs. You can hardly expect food that you’ve prepared for dinner or lunch to easily fit a small pouch or a pocket.Plus there is that awkwardness of having to carry a spoon and fork around with you.Although low carb dieters can try so many low carb recipes, turning them into low carb snacks produce, at best, awkward and unsatisfactory results.

Ready to eat snacks should not require any more heating and they should also be easy to carry around without causing too much of a mess. And of course it should also be delicious! Just because a snack is easy to carry around does not mean it is perfect, especially when the taste is not at all palatable. Now you understand why there are so few low carb snacks! Ticking all those boxes is quite difficult.

What low carb snacks are available, then? There are of course some low carb snacks. There are vegetables, for one.You can even find ready-to-eat celery sticks in some stores. They are pretty easy to carry around with you. You can pop one into your mouth whenever you want. However it’s not all that satisfying to eat because it doesn’t fill you up well. I always want something else to eat when I have just celery sticks!
